There are many advantages ....
 to buying solid wood furniture. As an interior designer, I am
constantly recommending that my clients purchase furniture made of solid wood. Not only are solid wood furnishings beautiful and classic, but they make a powerful statement about any room in which
they are placed. If you are redecorating a room in your home and are looking for some awesome furniture that will truly make an impression, then look no further than solid wood furnishings.
Advantages of Solid Wood Furniture
The thing I like most about furniture that is made of solid wood is the fact that it is so durable. Unlike hollow wood and/or wicker pieces, solid wood furnishings can take beating after beating and still
maintain a beautiful appearance. It is for this reason that I recommend solid wood pieces to clients with children. Considering the fact that individuals have been known to pay thousands for
"distressed" solid wood furnishings, you can't go wrong!
Another reason that I like solid wood furnishings is because they are timeless. Unlike flimsy and artsy pieces that are in one minute and out the other, solid wood pieces never seem to go out
of fashion. The solid wood bureau my parents bought in the '70s, for example, is still very elegant in appearance and very much in style. Although furniture made of solid wood does tend to be a bit
on the expensive side, the additional cost is worth it when you consider how long you and your loved ones will enjoy it.
