Printer Friendly Measuring Guide

LENGTH:

Measure length including pipes.  Add 1/2 to 1 inch to your
 length measurement.  ( L+ 1" )

Note: If you have a tight space or a slimmer looking cabinet is desired see EXPOSED PIPES below.

Measure from floor to top of radiator.  Your finished height will be as described below.  No need to add extra to height.

Note:  Cabinet will be 2 1/2 " higher than actual height.  We can shorten overall "H" to 1" higher than the radiator if a window sill is in the way or a shorter cabinet is desired.

Cabinets will extend 3 inches wider on each side.  Finished length will be 6 inches longer including the 1 inch side overhangs.

HEIGHT:
D: If radiator is UNDER the WINDOW  'D' dimensions will be needed ! The distance from top of radiator to bottom of sill. (see top drawing)

.

WIDTH:
(Depth)

Measure width (depth) of radiator starting from the back floor board (or quarter round molding if you have it) to the front of the radiator.  Most radiators are not parallel to the wall so be sure to measure both ends of the radiator and add ½ inch to the largest dimension!  ( W + ½" )

Note:  Finished cabinet will extend 2 1/2 inches in front of the radiator. (This includes the 1" front overhang).

(Back Overhang):   Most people prefer to have the top of their cabinet touching the back wall. Measure the thickness of your floor molding including any quarter round and you will have your 'OH' dimension. (see top drawing)

Note:  If you do not want the top of your cabinet to touch the wall 'OH' = 0.

OH:

-OPTIONAL-

EXPOSED PIPES:  If you want feed and / or return pipes exposed we will need to know what side and how high to make the cut.

-Standard cut on VALVE side is (9" High x 4" Wide).
-On PIPE side standard cut is (6" High x 4" Wide).

Note;  All cuts will be centered unless otherwise specified!

VALVE DOOR:    If you turn your on/off valve often (usually steam heat) you may want a door to access your shut off valve.
(The additional cost is
$25.00/door)   State side and height of shut-off valve.
